Tatte Bakery & Cafe at 250 Massachusetts Avenue: A Slice of Perfection From the moment I stepped into Tatte, I was swept up in a wave of warmth, elegance, and hospitality. The atmosphere is bright and stylish, with high ceilings, clean lines, and an open layout that invites you to linger a little longer. Whether you’re looking for a cozy solo breakfast or a place to meet with friends or colleagues, this spot has you covered. Let’s talk about the staff—absolutely outstanding. Every person behind the counter and on the floor radiated positivity and professionalism. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. Their energy brought an extra layer of joy to an already incredible experience. Now, the food? Honestly, it was better than perfect. Every bite was crafted with care and full of flavor. The grilled sandwich was golden, melty heaven—crispy on the outside, rich and savory on the inside. The shakshuka was a knockout, loaded with bold spices, creamy eggs, and thick-cut bacon that added just the right texture and taste. And don’t even get me started on the pastries—a perfect mix of tender, buttery, and sweet. That muffin and strawberry jelly donut Pure bliss. This cafe doesn’t just serve food—it serves joy, comfort, and a memorable experience that stays with you long after the last bite. And the coffee, my sweet bliss, the coffee was heavenly. Five stars without a doubt. I’ll be coming back again and again.

Very busy in the mornings, but there are tables where you can sit and work. The pistachio croissants are quite popular. All of their croissants are super airy and light. Everything is freshly baked.

Having breakfast here is definitely a great choice, especially if you’re coming with someone special. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a cozy, vintage atmosphere—simple, clean, and full of charm. It felt like stepping into a romantic little cafe in an old movie. We sat by the window, sunlight pouring in, sipping on some seriously good coffee—it was rich, smooth, and felt like the kind of coffee that could fix your whole day. The food was simple but satisfying, perfect for a slow morning together. The only thing I wish was better? The restroom. It’s really tiny and a bit too cramped for comfort. A little more space (and maybe a mirror with soft lighting?) would definitely make it feel more welcoming. But overall, it’s a lovely spot for a breakfast date. We left with full bellies and happy hearts.

I’m really shocked by how many brunch choices there are to choose from on their menu! They have an assortment of desserts and pastries showcased by the register, and a designated coffee bar. There is an ample amount of cafe style seating as well! I ordered the short rib and eggplant over couscous, and my bf got the croquette madam. Both are exquisite. Our coffees were also amazing; I had an iced vanilla oatmilk latte, and my bf had a mocha (which has real chocolate melted in!). This is definitely a spot worth checking out!

A very nice bakery and cafe! I had the spiced shrimp salad with a Tatte House Latte - both were very good! I took home a pastry that was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is cute and more upscale but still very casual and inviting. Plenty of people were enjoying a latte and working in the cafe. Would definitely recommend!

My go-to cafe in DC I always order either the ginger date oatmilk latte or the house latte - I prefer the former! Their pain au chocolat is also good The shakshuka was delightful and comforting - highly recommend. The serving size is big so you can share it with someone. It can get really busy around 10 am onwards, hard to find seats as some people would stay there for hours with their laptops. But I would definitely go back when I’m in DC

Perhaps reminiscent of Dean and Deluca from NYC SoHo but even better, Tatte will not disappoint. Yes, it's a chain establishment but quality is consistent. Pastries, sandwiches, breakfast items, etc. are all prepared well with quality ingredients. Good espresso beverage & tea variety but no soy milk, at least at this location; professional, diligent staff; both indoor/outdoor tables, large dining area but seating can become scarce during peak rush; street parking; convenient walking distance from area hotels, offices & apartments; reasonable prices & decent value. Recommended!
